Services:

Scientific Support: The Department members give consultative services in questions of seed-growing of different crops, publish recommendations in cultivation technologies, conduct work in seed-growing in research farms.
Products sell: Every year nursery seeds and elite cereal crop, perennial herbs  seeds are grown. Up to 250 t of cereals, 20-30 t of rape and sunflower, 10-15 t of soybean, 10-15 t of millet are sold each year.

From 1981 to 2003 the Department was managed by Candidate of Agricultural Sciences M.H. Velychko.
Since 2003 Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Research Officer Vlashchuk A.M. has been leading the Department.

Workers of the Department pay particular attention to application in production of new varieties and hybrids of cereals, leguminous, oil crops and herbs, included in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine; conduct planning and coordination of the seeds production at the experimental farms of the Institute. This is about 35 varieties and hybrids belonging to 15 crops.
Annual winter crops elite seeds production volume is about 2350 t, spring crops and leguminous crops – 660, oil crops – 110, perennial herbs – 20 t.
A collective of the Department conducts scientific work in seed-growing and coordinates production of different category seeds in the region.
